Fascinating Burma. Traditional Asia almost uninfluenced by the West. Rarely visited. Little known. I was there at a time when travel was not recommended. Not because it was unsafe, but because the visitor’s money would support the military regime. I think it is a bit different now… Not the government or its attitude to the people, but its relations with the rest of the world.
It was (and I’m sure still is) a country with the nicest people you can imagine, a very rich history that was completely unknown to me (and I assume to most people in the world), magnificent architecture and magical scenery. This is only a very small subset of my Burma (Myanmar) photos. More will be posted soon.
